Rosalyn Reed, LCSW

As an African American woman, scholar, and changemaker, Rosalyn Reed’s work is deeply rooted in her experiences growing up under the guidance of caring mentors from her community. A fourth generation daughter of the city of Oakland, she has dedicated her career to improving access to the resources and services for underserved communities of color. Given her deeply rooted ties to the Bay Area, the birthplace of the Black Panther Party, she is intimately familiar with the brilliance overflowing from the Black community and driven by a dream of alleviating racial disparities and supporting the realization of equity and wellness for communities of color throughout the country. These experiences, their long-term impact, and her desire to create a better world for future generations have been linchpins for her career path. Reed has worked in the non-profit community in the Oakland and San Francisco Bay Area since 2002. With well over 20 years of experience, she has also worked in non profits across the country, promoting social justice and providing her expertise as a clinical social worker, program developer, youth enrichment specialist, community organizer and executive leadership coach.
Reed is a visionary, passionate, and collaborative leader with a demonstrated expertise in supporting people of color in accessing resources and creating collaborative spaces to heal, learn, and build community. She is committed to both excellence and equity in the non-profit arena and has a proven track record of establishing and leading teams through a creative, flexible, and loving approach grounded in authenticity. Rosalyn has held leadership roles, including six Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director positions, in multiple non-profits providing direct services to the community. Reed is also the founder of Uniting Youth Leaders (2005) & Rosalyn Reed Consulting Group (2022), a non-profit consulting organization dedicated to the healing and revolutionary transformation of disenfranchised communities. R.Reed Consulting Group, LLC brings more than two decades of nonprofit experience, spanning all aspects of executive management, development, HR, DEIB, communications, and executive coaching.
